Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price–and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…

A convict with a thirst for revenge.

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.

A runaway with a privileged past.

A spy known as the Wraith.

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

Oceans 11 with a magical twist!

Kaz Brekker has a mysterious past. No one knows where he came from, why he always wears gloves on his hands, or why he seems to have no conscience whatsoever. Known as dirty-hands he is a product of the Barrels – he has risen through the ranks of his gang with one mission in mind. Revenge. After being offered a payday that is to good to ignore, he creates an elaborate plan to pull off what should be impossible.

I have seen this book series hyped all over youtube and bookstagram and it honestly made me a little hesitant to pick it up – BUT I am so glad that I did! This book was AMAZING! It was action packed – with characters that draw you in. It is told from each of their viewpoints with revelations of their pasts throughout and even though the POV changes each chapter – it is done in such a way that you don’t lose momentum and it actually moves the story along.

It does leave you on a cliffhanger – so it is best that you buy both Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom at the same time so you can carry on!

No mourners. No funerals

The story is quite violent – and some of the characters back stories are a bit disturbing. I think that it is definitely more geared towards the older teen to young adult reader.
